Angioplasty & Stent Placement

Angioplasty/stenting (collectively termed PCI or Percutaneous Coronary Intervention) is a procedure within the hospital used electively to open blocked or narrowed arteries causing patients chest pains or shortness breath or emergently in the setting of an acute heart attack.
Patients can typically be discharged from the hospital on the day of the elective procedure.
After the procedure, you will be scheduled for a follow up office visit with Dr. Caldwell to discuss your test results, your progress, ensure that all of your questions are answered, and together develop a plan for your long term continued care.
